Capability trainings enhance IG staff, IG groups’ skills

Various capability trainings were conducted in the first quarter of the year for the Income Generation (IG) sector. Trainings were held not only for income generating groups (IGGs) but also for GNIP IG field staff.

Last March 31, 11 IGG and 6 CDC members of Barangay Tibaguin, Hagonoy, Bulacan enhanced their finance management skills in a training conducted in their area. The training tackled the current situation and function of CDCs as part of the IGG; identified the group’s business needs versus wants; and taught the group skills on proper bookkeeping and financial management.

In addition, GNIP’s own IG staff also enhanced their skills in a Training of Trainers activity conducted last March 13-17 in partnership with Missional Business Center (MBC) at CAMP Asia, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.  From the training, 6 GNIP IG implementers are now full-fledged trainers for Generate Your Business (GYB) and Start Your Business (SYB) modules. Staff also evaluated the business plans of the IGGs in their areas for further enhancement.
